Recycling

Recycling in the municipality is provided by the Lions Club 250-788-1111

The recycling facility and bottle depot is located at the north end of 54th Street NW.  Not only do they recycle the usual items such as glass, tin, plastics, cardboard and paper, but also accept batteries, paint, fluorescent light bulbs, small appliances, computers and electronic devices.

Compost Program

The District of Chetwynd currently provides a bin for the disposal of compost material like leaves, small diameter prunings (1/2” and smaller) and grass clippings.  This bin is located outside the Recycling Depot at the north end of 54th Street NW.  Compost material from this bin is processed by the municipality and used for future projects in the community.  Christmas trees that are collected by the municipality are also chipped and added to our compost pile.
