NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Pursuant to Section 892 of the Local Government Act RSBC 1996, the Council of the District of Chetwynd gives notice that all persons who believe their interest to be affected by the provisions contained in the “District of Chetwynd Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 919, 2010” shall be afforded an opportunity to be heard on matters contained in the bylaw at a Public Hearing scheduled for the below noted date and place:

                                                                Time:     4:15 p.m.

                                                                Place:     Council Chambers, District Office

The purpose of Bylaw No. 919, 2010 is to:

a)       amend the existing Official Community Plan Bylaw to conform with the provisions of the Local Government Act, 1996; and

b)       the creation of a new environmental sustainability section that sets greenhouse gas reduction targets;

c)       a renewed focus on accessibility;

d)       a new focus on affordability;

e)       updated population growth projects; and

f)        a modernized and more user-friendly document.

All lands within the District of Chetwynd may be subject to the bylaw amendments.

This notification is in summary form only.  Residents and property owners who believe their interest in property may be affected by the proposed bylaw may view the bylaw and maps in detail between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday at the District of Chetwynd Office - 5400 North Access Road.
