Sukunka River Landslide

There has been a landslide on the Sukunka River upstream the 6-mile bridge. Significant water backup is occurring as well as debris accumulation. Please be advised not to swim downstream of the blockage, or launch boats into the area. At this time there is no risk to infrastructure or property. The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) is actively monitoring the situation and will update accordingly.
The PRRD has sent out notifications through the Northeast BC Emergency Alert system, as well as posts to social media. They strongly suggest signing up for NEBC Alerts.
Below is a map of the approximate location of the landslide.
