My AccountTelus will be installing fibre optic internet in the District of Chetwynd this summer and into the fall, which will require some work and disruption to District-owned land within the road rights-of-way, and private land where Telus has been given authorization by the landowner to install the service up to individual houses. The prime contractor for this project is Ledcor. Telus anticipates that the new high-speed internet will be operational by the middle of November.
While some residents’ lawns may be disturbed, Telus’s contractor Ledcor will be responsible for full restoration of lawns, driveways, and roadways once construction is complete. Please be mindful of where you are parking your recreational and other vehicles when crews are working in your neighbourhood – Ledcor will provide 48-hour notices to any vehicles that will need to be moved, for instance, if they are located within the road right-of-way.
